Janani Project

The Janani Project aims at providing housing at affordable cost to unorganized sector workers and low-paid workers in the State who are unable to own a house/apartment of their own due to the high market prices and allied difficulty in availing housing loans. These families are often left with no choice but to remain in rented accommodation throughout their lives and the increasing rent rates have become an added burden on them.

The Government of Kerala and particularly the Department of Labour and Skills has identified affordable housing for low-paid labourers, workers and employees in the State as a key requirement for their well being and also the balanced and sustainable growth of the State.
