Bhavanam Project

The Bhavanam Project aims at providing Plantation labourers and their families in Kerala hygienic, safe and secure residential accommodation within or near Plantations.

Kerala has around 600 plantation estates employing more than seventy thousand plantation labourers per day. It has come to the attention of the Department of Labour and Skills, Government of Kerala that in recent years, the quality of the accommodation provided in the form of Labour Lines by the Plantation Employers have deteriorated and immediate action is required to ensure that the labourers and their families are provided good quality housing.
